Moments we loved from the Oscars 2019

Moments we loved from the Oscars 2019

This year’s 91st annual academy awards, or Oscars 2019 to you and me, certainly didn’t disappoint.
And in case you slept on the action, we’ve got you with the seven moments we loved…

There was no host...

Due to the whole Kevin Hart drama, this year’s awards had no host - a first since 1989. It didn’t really matter though with Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph AKA the dream team bringing all the lols with a Fyre Festival, Shallowjoke and cheesy chat up line. They should’ve hosted the whole thing, tbh.

Hannah Beachler and Ruth E.Carter made history…

Black Panther won not one but three Oscars this year. Notably, Hannah Beachler bagged the Best Production Design award and Ruth E.Carter came out top with Best Costume Design - making them the first black women to win an Oscar in their categories.  Go on, girls.

That Lady Gaga / Bradley Cooper duet…

Jackson Maine and that gorgeous gravelly voice made a return with Gaga on the keys for their performance of Shallow. We got goosebumps all over again.

Olivia Colman’s speech…

Beating the likes of Lady Gaga, Glenn Close and Melissa McCarthy, Olivia Colman was a worthy winner for Best Actress for The Favourite. And blowing a raspberry at the end of her speech made us love her even more.

Marie Kondo made an appearance…

Taking a time-out from tidying, Marie Kondo gave us all the wedding guest dress inspo in this Jenny Packham number.

Jason Momoa’s scrunchie…

A pink velvet suit with matching scrunchie? We’re here for it.

Billy Porter gave us a lesson in making an entrance…

Mood for the rest of 2019.
