Have a big breakfast
You've got a long day ahead of you, so much sure you're sufficiently fuelled. Let's face it, it's going to be a boozy day so whatever you do, DON'T drink on an empty stomach. Get dressed up, get your gang together and go for a delicious brunch to set you on the right track (pun intended).
Take comfortable heels
You're going to be on your feet all day so comfortable shoes are a must, but we get it - you don't want to sacrifice on style. Lose some inches and go for a midi or kitten heel. If you aren't willing to sacrifice your height, a tall wedge or platform heel will be your saviour.
Take the perfect-sized bag
You need something that's big enough to fit the essentials, but small enough to go with your chic look. Plus, you're going to be carrying it all day so weight should be kept to a minimum. Lucky for you, we've got more than enough options. Spoilt for choice!
Prepare for all weather
We are in England, after all. It could be sunshine all morning with an afternoon downpour so make sure you've covered all bases. We suggest you pack a fold-up umbrella as well as some sun cream. A lobster red sunburn will clash with your look.
Set yourself a budget
We know things can be a little overwhelming and the temptation to spend can get a bit much but go with a clear idea of how much you want to spend to avoid the next day guilt. Don't forget that the minimum bet on each race is £2 and there are 6 races per day. That should help you crunch your numbers!
Don’t splash your winnings
Speaking of temptation, there's nothing like that winners high and the need for more! Don't get greedy and spend all of your winnings, you might lose it all… unless you want to, of course! It is kind of like getting free money…
Do you your research
Have a look at the horses racing beforehand, their stats and their odds to put you in good stead for cashing in! But if choosing by the cutest or funniest name is your tactic, we salute you!
